that scene was hard enough to get through in the novel when I didn’t have to look at their faces, but damn did the artist do a good job of bringing something that I never wanted to see to life in vivid detail. I think I was more upset with her the first time, that she reacted the way some parents react to their kid coming out of the closet, a terrifying experience that needs to be responded to with love and support so it won’t be a horrible trauma. But this time I don’t hold it against her as much
